Careers at Granite Tech put you on a local Montana team that has supported more than 1,200 businesses with managed IT, business phone systems, cybersecurity, and structured cabling. We invest in training our people so they can be their very best in industry knowledge, experience, and customer care, and that preparation shows up at every client we serve.
Both openings are full time, list their pay up front, and include a bonus. Open a quick look for the short version, or go to the full posting to read every duty and qualification and apply. Each listing also spells out the physical requirements, because both roles spend real time at client sites.

Granite Tech started as Montana Phone in 2003 and grew into a full-service technology company with offices in Missoula, Bozeman, and Kalispell, plus a Helena service area. The thing that has not changed is why we do this: we care about the people behind the businesses we serve.
That is what we look for in new teammates. Technical ability matters, and every posting spells out the experience it needs. The people who do best here pair that ability with patience, clear communication, and pride in leaving a client better off than they found them.
Because Granite Tech handles IT, phones, security, and cabling under one roof, the work rarely stays in one lane. A systems administrator might verify server backups in the morning and help with a phone system rollout in the afternoon. A cabling technician might terminate a fiber run one day and install door access readers or security cameras the next.
Both of our open roles list outstanding customer satisfaction as the first expectation. The technology is the tool; the client relationship is the job.
You will explain problems and fixes directly to clients, and on cabling jobs to vendors and other trades on site.
Our technicians work with minimal to no supervision, take on complex projects, and document and track their work through the day.
The systems administrator role asks for at least three years in IT. The cabling role prefers three years of low voltage and fiber work but does not require it.
Both roles drive to client locations, so a clean driving record and valid license are required, along with ladder work and lifting.
Pay ranges are posted on every listing. Here is what comes with them.
Salary or hourly ranges are listed on each posting, and both open roles are bonus eligible.
Health coverage for medical, dental, and vision is part of the package for both roles.
The systems administrator package adds life insurance, AD&D, and an employee assistance program.
Retirement plans with a company match, so saving for later is not something you do alone.
Paid time off, paid holidays, and Adventure Days, our floating holidays to use as you choose.
Room for promotion and growth within the company, backed by paid training and certifications.
Each job posting lists the full package for that role.
Jayme started Montana Phone in 2003 after more than 30 years in telecom alongside companies like Lucent, AT&T, and Telecom National. In 2021 Montana Phone acquired Bozeman-based Granite Technology Solutions, rebranded as Granite Tech, and grew to four Montana locations. That straight-talk positioning applies inside the company too.
Meet the teamOur technicians work alongside account executives and technical account managers who manage each client relationship, so the technical work and the client’s priorities stay connected.
The whole team works toward the same goal for every client: a healthy business, where technology works quietly in the background. Our Healthy Business framework gives that goal a documented structure.
Explore the Healthy Business libraryGranite Tech currently has two full-time openings: a Computer Systems Administrator at $45,000 to $65,000 per year plus bonus, and a Structured Cabling Technician in Bozeman at $20 to $29 per hour plus bonus. No. Three years of low voltage and fiber optic cabling experience is preferred but not required. The role is expected to earn BICSI and manufacturer certifications within two years of employment, and Granite Tech invests in that training.

The Structured Cabling Technician role is based in Bozeman, at our office on Evergreen Drive. Granite Tech also has offices in Missoula, our headquarters on North Avenue West, and Kalispell on Corporate Drive, plus a Helena service area. Field roles travel to client sites from their home office.
Adventure Days are Granite Tech’s floating holidays. They come on top of PTO and paid holidays, so you can take a day for whatever matters to you.
Yes. Both open roles drive to client locations and work inside and outside, so a clean driving record and a valid license are required. The postings also list ladder and lifting requirements for each role.
